Makeup primers are pretty amazing, all things considered. Yes, they are another step in a make-up routine – a downer when you’re a parent and every minute accounts. On the other hand, they DO help your face look as if you slept a full 8 hours (ha!).
So if you want to fool your co-workers and friends check out these 4 under the radar primers that are NOT from Smashbox, Hourglass or Make-up Forever which – while lovely! – don’t deliver the benefits that these primers do.
Marc Jacob Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer
This primer from Marc Jacobs smells DIVINE and if you have somewhat dry skin, it helps hydrate it. Plus it leaves skin dewy not matte. If you don’t eat it, you’re a better person than I am.

Too Faced Hangover Primer

The name in itself is fun AF for this primer from hip brand Too Faced, but after a night out with tequila (no judging) this thing will whip your face into shape. NBD.

Tatcha The Silk Canvas
How beautiful is this primer in a compact from Tatcha?! Surprisingly, it’s also a primer! Just take a bit and spread it on your face. It feels soft, almost like butter, and absorbs quickly into your face. Unlike other primers, it provides a protective barrier against your make-up which makes it ideal for sensitive skin. Total win.
Retails for $52. See it here.
Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Blur Primer
If your skin is blah then you will probably benefit from this primer that is inspired by the Touche Eclat (best undereye concealer EVER!) that does a fantastic job blurring the hell out of those pores you detest. Don’t be put off by the glitter, it goes on more subtle than it appears in the bottle. Promise.
